Playstation 2, in Pink!

Sony have knocked around a tenner off the price of a PlayStation 2 by announcing a new £94.99 price point for the machine, alongside plans to turn their six-year-old console pink later this year when a £129.99 limited edition version will be launched.

The Pink PlayStation 2 will come bundled with two Pink DualShock 2 controllers, a Pink memory card and a copy of SingStar Pop, and according to Sony’s European Brand Manager Dan Hill it’s “funky, fresh, and fashionable, and will further broaden the console’s continuing popularity and relevance with a fun new twist”.

A pink coloured PlayStation Portable may also be lined up for release at some point in the not too distant future, but Sony have so far remained tight-lipped about the possibility, despite trade magazine MCV claiming that the £169 device will include a bonus UMD featuring music videos from US songstress Pink.
